What Does Parenting Time Include?
When children's future schedules are decided, minimizing the potential for conflict between the parents is always a good thing. Because of that, it is wise to make the parenting time plan as specific as possible.
Some of the various details our attorneys can help you address include pick-up and drop-off times, transitions, weekends, holidays, school release days, summer vacations and school activities, and how contingencies like illnesses or other unpredictable events will be managed.
Supervised Visitation
If one parent has a history of drug or alcohol abuse, domestic violence or any other type of conduct that's likely to be detrimental to the children, the court may, in extreme cases, deny visitation altogether. However, recognizing that children benefit tremendously from having relationships with both parents, courts will more often order what is known as therapeutic supervised visitation (TSV).
